Halakha Standard Used For Judgment

This page is an explanation of the criteria that the OMJRA uses when establishing halakha. The member rabbis of the OMJRA take the job of establishing halakha very seriously. Therefore, we do not make hasty decisions concerning halacha.

In the messianic community there is a problem when it comes to unifying believers. As a result the OMJRA recognized a need to establish a Beit Din that was capable of unifying the membership of the OMJRA. However, there will be many groups and individuals who do not agree with these rulings. But the process of unification requires the OMJRA to take a stand that is based on common beliefs.

Despite the fact some people will be displeased the OMJRA is one of the few organizations that has been courageous enough to publicly post halakha. These OMJRA rulings are posted so that other individuals and ministries will have access to the research and conclusions that led to the establishment of these rulings.

This is an outline of how each item influences the OMJRA when making a ruling concerning halakha. For items where books are listed after their authors each book by the author caries the same weight. For example, all books written by Paul, are given the same value when it comes to halakhtic rulings. We tried to maintain an order relevant to how close the text is to the source. For example, the Torah came directly from Elohim and Yeshua heard directly from God. Therefore, Yeshua and the Torah are at the top of the list.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.”(Acts 2:41-45)

And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Ruach HaKodesh. And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."

Shemot 34:29-32 "And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai."

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
